The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

multi-family developments and accessory apartments putting a greater strain on our town's infrastructure and great education system. Unfortunately it is hard to undo what has been done over the last 4 years with the numerous development projects in town. Going forward and I will look to put limits on the number of units that can be built in a single building and work with PZC to opt out of accessory apartment zoning laws that the state has passed allowing single-family homes to build a detached apartment on their property.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

Our town is going through a transition where many new families have moved into South Windsor over the last two years. Our slate of candidates are representative of this change in town and want to take on a leadership role so that we can have a say in how our tax dollars are spent and help to set the strategic direction of our town and discuss current issues affecting our families openly and honestly.

Accomplishments:

As a former member of the Board of Education, we worked cooperatively with the Superintendent to successfully implement the objectives of our 3-year strategic plan. I sat on numerous boards and commissions that made a positive impact on our community such as parks and rec, and capital projects and blight of appeals to name a few. I have volunteered my time as a leader in a local scout pack and have been involved with youth sports for the last 4 years. I have volunteered my time in many organizations over the years and am aware of the commitment necessary to best serve our community.

Other issues:

Talking to people around town and many feel their opinions don't matter and that town leaders are not transparent in providing information for the residents of our town. I have a plan to ensure resident's voices are heard and that we govern as direct and open as possible.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

We are raising our family in South Windsor because of the educational system and the numerous recreational spaces and wonderful activities SW offers to families of all ages. I want to ensure that we keep the charm and character of our town while maintaining the services we all enjoy. How we can do this is properly funding our capital projects budget so that we don't have to hold a referendum for things that should have been part of our regular budget.
