The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Maintaining our aging infrastructure including schools, facilities, roads and sewers while holding the line on taxes and retaining staff. PZC is critical to our friendly business development reputation, encouraging housing our workers can afford, and and maintaining the right balance in the character of our various land uses.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
My experience working with almost all Town departments and school personnel as well as residents gives me the deep understanding needed to manage the impact of any development that comes before the PZC.
Accomplishments:
I led efforts to promote energy efficiency in our homes and encourage the installation of over 500 solar systems. I led development of solar and electric vehicle zoning regulations and have been a key volunteer in the development of the 4th grade bike safety program.
Other issues:
PZC must develop a new Housing Plan in the next year. Our Plan of Conservation and Development must be updated during my next term. Many of our major streets and roads need sidewalks.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Karen and I moved into South Windsor 22 years ago. I have been a volunteer in town government for 20 of those years. I love biking on streets and trails and skiing among moguls and trees.
