Police: Arrest Made After Multiple Calls About Driver

Police say officers located the vehicle in a Sullivan Avenue parking lot Sunday night.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police say a 61-year-old man was arrested Sunday night after multiple reports of a vehicle being driven erratically along a busy stretch of town.

According to an email from the South Windsor Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:13 p.m. Feb. 22 to the area of Ayers Road and Sullivan Avenue for a complaint about a driver who appeared to be having trouble staying in control.

The vehicle was later located in the parking lot at 1006 Sullivan Ave., where officers identified the driver as Paul R. Perodeau, 61, of South Windsor.

During the investigation, officers determined Perodeau was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. Police said he agreed to take Standardized Field Sobriety Tests but did not perform them to standard.

Perodeau was taken into custody, processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on March 9 at 9 a.m.
