SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Eversource will be reviewing and surveying the soil condition on the 1448/1873/3642 Transmission Lines in the town of Bloomfield, Windsor, South Windsor, Manchester and East Hartford in preparation of upcoming structure replacements. The scope of work is to conduct field tests including soil sampling, excavated by hand, using a shovel, to help determine the current conditions. Field crews consist of up to four (4) individuals and will work within the existing right-of-way during daylight hours. Each shovel test measures 20 x 20 inches and is approximately 3 feet deep. The soil that is removed is passed through 1/4-inch mess screen to recover any artifacts. Once completed, the area is backfilled completely, and the area is returned as close to pre-excavation conditions as possible. Please note that this work will not interrupt electric service to homes or businesses.
Work will begin within the next week and is expected to be complete by the end of February 2019. All abutting property owners will be receiving a notification letter regarding this work. I have attached a copy for your records. The nearby property owners are being provided with a 1-800 number and an email address if they would like additional information.
