The top right box shows the backbone miles that are part of the scheduled tree work. The backbones are the primary lines leading from a substation and delivering power in the community. To use a tree analogy, the substation is the roots and the backbone is the trunk of the tree, sending power to the branches or the individual circuits that deliver power to each Eversource customer.
The bottom left is rather self-explanatory and shows the number of blocked roads that were caused by trees.
As for the bottom right Eversource officials said, "As you know, we have to obtain permission from our customers to do tree work on their property. The refusals numbers are just that — those customers who said no to the work that is needed to be done on their property to help ensure reliable energy service in their area. Instead of refusing, "light trims" are those customers who allowed partial work to be done to the trees on their property – not the full trimming, pruning or removal that we believe is necessary and wanted to do."
