Fire Breaks Out at South Windsor RV Facility

A fire broke out an a South Windsor RV facility.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Firefighters battled a blaze at a South Windsor recreational vehicle facility early Thursday morning.

At 12:39 a.m. on Thursday, South Windsor firefighters were dispatched to an "unknown fire" at Pete’s RV Center (the former Vans RV Center), at 417 John Fitch Boulevard, the local address for state Route 5.

A police officer arrived at the scene first and told firefighter that the fire involved a large shed, two campers and four vehicles, fire officials said.

The three vehicles involved were parked at a neighboring business, Pete’s Carstar, close to the property line, fire officials said.

Several other camper trailers were parked in close proximity to fire location, but crews were able to prevent the flames from extending further, and limited the damage, officials said.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the South Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office.
