Fraud Warnings, Lunch Part Of South Windsor Medicare Event
The program at the South Windsor Community Center will include a presentation on Medicare fraud trends followed by a pizza lunch.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Seniors and caregivers in South Windsor will have a chance later this month to learn more about Medicare fraud and other common scams at a free lunch-and-learn event.
The program, titled “Frauds, Frauds & Still More Frauds,” is scheduled for Friday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the South Windsor Community Center, 150 Nevers Road. A pizza lunch will follow the presentation.
According to the event flyer, the session will feature Senior Medicare Patrol and the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging. Organizers said the discussion will focus on the latest Medicare fraud issues affecting local communities.

The flyer says the event will also cover ways people can protect themselves or loved ones from financial exploitation. Other topics include how Medicare fraud is defined, why some victims hesitate to report it, and common banking and Medicare scams.
Organizers said attendees will also learn who to contact and where to report suspected frauds and scams. The event is intended to help people better protect confidential banking and health care information and recognize suspicious behavior.
