Paint is an inexpensive way to improve your homes marketability. Paint will make your entire home look clean and neat, and can bring sellers top dollar. Always go with a light neutral color that appeals to the most people. If your home has chipping paint or surfaces that look dirty or tired, it's time for new paint. If your kitchen cabinets are dated a fresh coat of paint will also update them. White or off white would be the color to use. Solid deck stains work well on bathroom cabinetry. Chocolate brown is a favorite to update the bathroom vanities. Also, if your carpeting is old, outdated, or an unusual color you might consider replacing it. Many houses do not sell because of these problems. If you're counting on the potential buyer having the money to freshen up your home the reality is they typically don't and will simply look elsewhere for a home that doesn't need work and is move in ready. Please let me know when you are ready to sell and I can help you prepare your home for today's market. Linda Goff - Prudential Ct Realty, South Windsor
