Fugitive Caught Shoplifting In South Windsor: Police

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A man who was wanted on a warrant out of Maine was caught shoplifting in South Windsor Sunday and arrested as a fugitive from justice, according to police. South Windsor Police responded to a Buckland Hills Drive retail store at about 2:30 p.m. on March 31 for a shoplifting complaint.

Store security had detained the suspect after he tried to leave the store with $60 in clothing, according to police. Police found that the suspect was also wanted for a robbery charge in Bangor, Maine.

Ronald Tilley, 59, of Hampden, Maine, was arrested and charged with sixth-degree larceny and as a fugitive from justice. He was held on $100,000 surety bond and was scheduled to be arraigned at Manchester Superior Court on April 1.
