Legendary therapy canine and Patch's Regional Top Dog was in South Windsor on Wednesday.

Carnival Day at The Village of Buckland Court assisted living community brought more than just popcorn, snowcones, clowns, jugglers and games to residents on Wednesday afternoon.

Indeed, the festivities included an appearance by Gizmo the Wonderdoglet, the 3.8-pound legendary pooch brought who visited South Windsor to do therapy work and also raise funds through his nonprofit Gizzmo's Frens, Inc. (Though he’s an , Gizmo isn’t much for spelling.)

With his 501(c)3, Gizmo - Patch's Top Dog for Central Connecticut - raises money for pet rescues and other charitable organizations, and, according to Gizmo’s agent, "the folks at the Village asked to partner up with him to do some fundraising."

The residents and staff at The Village were thrilled to have Gizmo there.

“We love him,” said Debbie Campbell, The Village’s program director. “We’re here just celebrating summer."
