Hanukkah Concert Starts Season At Temple Beth Hillel

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Temple Beth Hillel celebrated the first day of Hanukkah on Sunday evening, hosting a public concert with the Connecticut Z'mirah Chorale Choir.

Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman and Cantor Scott Harris lit the Hanukkah candles as conductor Dr. Kevin Mack led the choir.

Hanukkah is the Jewish festival of freedom and lights commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt during the second century B.C.

Temple Beth Hillel is an inclusive congregation that welcomes interfaith families. Temple Beth Hillel was formed in 1960 in South Windsor. Affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism, the temple holds services in English and Hebrew, has an active religious school, and is involved in social action and social justice. www.tbhsw.org
