Police believe the shooting was the result of a confrontation over a drug deal.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - A Hartford man was arrested Tuesday for a February shooting that police believe was a drug deal gone wrong. Chad Ransom, 24, allegedly went to a home on Gorski Drive in the February incident and shot a man in the leg.

During the investigation, police found two pounds of marijuana and several thousand dollars. The investigation uncovered that the men knew each other and the shooting was the result of a drug deal that turned violent.

Ransom was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, first-degree threatening, carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment and criminal attempt at possession of a controlled substance. He was held on $400,000 bond and will appear in Manchester Superior Court today.
