Home Camera Snags South Windsor Burglary Suspect

A home security camera led authorities to a suspect in a South Windsor burglary over the weekend.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A home security camera led authorities to a suspect in a South Windsor burglary over the weekend, polce said.

At 6:04 on Saturday morning, South Windsor Police Department arrested Stephen William Burke, 26, of 949 Pleasant Valley Road, on first-degre burglary and second-degree criminal mischief charges, according to a report.

Burke was seen on an in-home security camera by a resident breaking into an unoccupied apartment, police said.

Burke was subsequently located hiding in a storage closet in the same apartment complex with the assistance of a state police canine unit , a report says.

Burke was held on a $10,000 surety bond and was to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Monday, police said.
