LeBeau Appointed Vice-Chair to Two Commitees, Retains Commerce Chairmanship
LeBeau, whose district includes South Windsor, has been appointed vice-chairman of Energy & Technology and Finance, Revenue & Bonding committees, while retaining his chairmanship of the pro-business Commerce Committee.

State Sen. Gary D. LeBeau, whose district includes South Windsor, has been appointed vice-chairman of two legislative committees -- Energy & Technology, and Finance, Revenue & Bonding -- while retaining his chairmanship of the pro-business Commerce Committee.
The appointments were announced this week by Senate President Donald E. Williams, Jr.

"The nexus of business and energy and technology issues grows closer every day, as does the need for the state to fund long-term investments in these areas, so I see my new responsibilities as overlapping in a very positive way," Sen. LeBeau said. "I am thankful to Senator Williams for this opportunity, and I plan to make the most of it for my constituents and for Connecticut's economy."
LeBeau said he is especially pleased to be serving as vice-chairman of the Energy & Technology Committee considering that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy recently announced his intention to formulate a comprehensive, statewide energy strategy. High energy prices have been a major concern for state employers, LeBeau noted.

LeBeau's committee assignments for 2013-2014 include:
- Chairman of the Commerce Committee, which oversees all matters relating to the state Department of Economic and Community Development, the Connecticut Development Authority, and Connecticut Innovations, Inc.
- Vice-Chairman of the Energy & Technology Committee, which oversees all matters relating to the state Department of Public Utility Control and energy planning and activities.
- Vice-Chairman of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, which has jurisdiction over all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees and taxation. Sen. LeBeau will also serve as Chairman of the committee's Transportation Bonding subcommittee.)
- Member of the Legislative Management Committee, which conducts the business affairs of the General Assembly.
