Macy's Logistics Center In South Windsor To Stay Open

Macy's is keeping its South Windsor facility open.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The Macy's logistics and operations center in South Windsor, designated for closure in September, is apparently being spared.

In a letter to the Connecticut Department of Labor dated Nov. 20, Macy's officials called off a site visit with state officials slated for Dec. 11.

"The company has decided to keep the Backstage unit open and operating," the letter states.

The logistics center is located at 301 Governors Highway.

Macy's made the closing announcement in a federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, commonly know as a WARN notice, on Sept. 17 to state officials. In the letter, the chain's representatives said Macy's "entire Backstage operational unit is to be closed."

Macy's Backstage is the company's affordable clothing arm.
