Man Charged After South Windsor Spitting Incident

A man already wanted in once case is accused of spitting on an officer after a South Windsor traffic stop, a report says.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A man already wanted in once case is accused of spitting on an officer after a South Windsor traffic stop, police said.

At 9:41 p.m. on Valentine's Day, South Windsor police arrested Shaun M. Congdon, 26, East Hartford. Congdon was the operator of a vehicle which was stopped for speeding, police said.

Congdon, had an active arrest warrant for second-degree failure to appear related to a breach of peace case, according to records.

While transporting Congdon to police headquarters, he "purposely spit" on an officer and "failed to cooperate" during the booking process, police said.

Congdon posted a $16,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 26, police said.
