Man Charged with DUI, Using Cell Phone: Police

South Windsor Police arrested the man following a traffic stop.

South Windsor Police charged a town man with DUI following a traffic stop on Saturday night.

An officer stopped a vehicle on Buckland Road for a violation around 9 p.m. on Dec. 26.

The officer made contact with the operator and suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Following a series of roadside sobriety tests officers arrested the man, Thomas Hatzilambros, 43, of 385 Graham Road.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, use of a handheld cell phone and failure to display registration plate.

Hatzilambros was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Jan. 4.
