Man Stole More Than $1.1K Worth Of Items From Target: South Windsor Police
Police said the man also had three active arrest warrants and was found to be in the possession of drugs.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Hartford man is accused of stealing more than $1,100 worth of merchandise from Target in South Windsor last Friday.
Police said the man, identified as 29-year-old Sergio Lira, also had three active arrest warrants and was found to be in the possession of drugs.
Officers responded around 10:20 a.m. on April 24 to Target at 125 Buckland Hills Drive on the report of a repeat shoplifter, Lira, inside the store trying to steal items, according to police.

Police said Lira tried running away from officers but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
During a search, police said officers found a wax fold containing suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia on Lira.

Police said it was determined that Lira stole approximately $1,130 worth of items. He also had two active warrants for violation of probation and an active failure to appear warrant, according to police.
Lira was charged with fourth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, second-degree failure to appear, and two counts of violation of probation. He was held in lieu of bonds totaling $31,000 and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
