Man Who Tried to Steal Shrimp Was Wanted on Several Warrants: South Windsor Police
Police say the man, who fled after being confronted by store employees, was identified by a photo lineup and had outstanding arrest warrants

A man who attempted to shoplift two large shopping bags of frozen shrimp was also wanted on five failure to appear arrest warrants, according to South Windsor Police.
South Windsor Police arrested Anthony Grillo, 33, of 129 Newington Avenue, Hartford, on a warrant on Tuesday, Feb. 16. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, five counts of second-degree failure to appear and failure to pay or plead an infraction ticket.
Police said Grillo was arrested on a local warrant for a 2015 incident in which he attempted to shoplift two large shopping bags of frozen shrimp. He fled when confronted by store employees.

The investigating officer identified Grillo based on the vehicle he was driving and a photo lineup identification by witnesses, according to police.
When Grillo was arrested on the South Windsor charges, police learned he was wanted on five failure to appear warrants for other agencies.

Grillo was held on a $25,000 surety bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
