Memorial Service For Fallen South Windsor Cop To Be Held
A memorial service for Matthew Mainieri will be held Friday.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - A memorial service for 20-year-veteran of the South Windsor Police Department Matthew Mainieri will be held at First Cathedral in Bloomfield, according to the Hartford Courant. The public service at the 1151 Blue Hills Ave. church will be held Friday morning.
Mainieri, 41, passed away Sunday afternoon after sustaining head injuries breaking up a bar fight in South Carolina. He was assaulted by Kelton Todd, 21, of Aynor, S.C., who was charged with assault of a high and aggravated nature in connection with Mainieri's injuries, as well as third-degree assault and battery charges related to the fight.
"This is the worst possible news one can imagine and we are totally heart-broken," said South Windsor Mayor Dr. M. Saud Anwar, according to WMBF NBC News.
