SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — College students from South Windsor recently achieved these accomplishments, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

• Assumption College has announced that 535 students have been named to the College's prestigious undergraduate Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester, including South Windsor residents Victoria Russo and Emily Rizza. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.

Siena College, Loudonville NY

• Lisa Greenhill from South Windsor graduated from Siena College on Sunday, May 14 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. The College awarded 799 degrees to the Class of 2017.

University of Iowa, Iowa City IA

• Briana Bednarz, a native of South Windsor, received a MA-Speech Pathology and Audiology degree from the University of Iowa at the close of the spring 2017 semester.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 5,290 undergraduates have qualified for the spring 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, many other states and countries. South Windsor students named to the Dean's List were Vanessa Marie Freeman, Ryan Richard Gannon, Olivia Rose Jones, Andrew Brian King, Kelly Lavoie, Rachel Sarah Levine, Jill Elizabeth Asmar, Madison Taylor Corcoran, Kyle A Bellis and Justine Elise Mirek. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Kelsey Cullen graduated from Western New England University with a Juris Doctor. The graduate ceremony was held on Sunday, May 21, with nearly 400 students receiving masters, law, and doctorate degrees from its Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, and School of Law.
• Western New England University's Undergraduate Commencement was held on Saturday, May 20, in the Alumni Healthful Living Center on the University campus. Approximately 600 students received degrees and several ROTC Cadets were commissioned as officers. Graduates from South Windsor were Kristen M. Fitzgerald, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Richard L. Landino, cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science; Jacob A. Singer, summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; and Michael J. Small, cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
