SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Lorraine (Bowen) Clapp, of South Windsor passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Talcott I. Clapp, she leaves four loving children, Leslie Clapp of South Windsor; Lisa Horsfield (Scott) of Tolland; Joan Clapp of Manchester; and Lauren Clarke (Steven) of Wethersfield, and six grandchildren, Ashleigh Clapp, Tyler Clapp, Lauren Horsfield, Eric Horsfield, Stephanie Clarke, and Jared Clarke. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Bowen and Cora Sutton Bowen.

Lorraine earned a Bachelor’s degree from Willimantic State Teachers College and a Master’s degree from Central Connecticut State University. She taught elementary school for almost 30 years. Lorraine’s interests were varied and wide-ranging: 4-H, her church, the Grange, genealogy, travel, history, music, needlecraft, the senior center, gardening, photography, Talcott’s CBI group, and more. Whatever activity Lorraine was involved in, she was an active participant, and volunteered her time, talents, and efforts to many organizations. She found great joy in her memories of growing up in Coventry, her life with her husband and children and, especially, following the lives of her grandchildren.
