Why are you seeking this office?
Having grown up and lived in South Windsor all my life. I have had an opportunity to live in a fantastic community, attend great schools and enjoy everything it has to offer. Being retired, I can devote all my time working for the people of South Windsor at the Capitol. I make it a point to be accessible and open to all the people I represent. Let’s be clear, change for change sake is no solution to keep our wonderful community moving in the right direction, it could easily end in disaster. I am committed to doing what’s best for South Windsor and I will continue to be your Full Time State Representative.
What do you believe is the No. 1 issue facing Connecticut, and how do you plan to address it?
Affordability
Eliminate State income tax on Seniors pensions and Teachers’ Retirement System income.
Everything you buy comes by truck. Repeal the truck mileage tax. Suspend the State of CT imposed gasoline tax and diesel tax.
Increase Education Cost Sharing Funding across the board.
Property Tax relief on people’s homes and cars.
Eliminate the “Public Benefit“ portion on your Eversource bill and role that into the State Budget and eliminate the Eversource 9% return on investment.

Energy costs have been soaring in Connecticut. What are your plans to help address this issue?
Put a halt to electric rate hikes. End the public benefit charges “period.” Hold PURA accountable for any electric rate increases.
Affordability has been a major topic across the country and here in Connecticut. How do you plan to address this issue?
I have personally testified against CT Water rate increases, Eversource rate increases and healthcare increases and I will continue the fight against any and all of those increases.
The state has to provide fair and equitable property tax relief. Additionally, the state needs to have a COLA on Educational Cost Sharing Monies. As for housing, the state needs to encourage developers without mandating development.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As a lead legislator on providing relief to people with Crumbling Foundations, I worked with fellow legislators to create the Crumbling Foundations Captive Insurance funding, which would allow people to repair their foundations and return their home to normal.
As Ranking member of the Banking Committee I worked to put regulations on Crypto ATM’s. As Ranking member of the Banking Committee I worked to protect seniors from financial exploitation and I was recognized by AARP for my efforts.
Protecting victims of domestic violence from coerced debt.
Currently, I am part of a working group to address fraud in Banking and Financial Services.
Through Bi-partisan efforts I worked with colleagues to obtain 80% reimbursement if we go forward for a new High School.
These are just a few examples of past accomplishments.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am running for re-election to continue working for all the people of South Windsor.
