Picture South Windsor - Then And Now
An old photograph and brief story from South Windsor's past, and how that site appears today.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Today we begin a periodic informal series highlighting businesses from South Windsor's past, and what those locations look like today. Our initial offering goes back exactly half a century, to page 151 of the 1970 South Windsor High School yearbook, the Centurion, and an ad for Captain Mac's Seafood.
Captain Mac's was located at 978 Sullivan Ave. It offered a fresh variety of seafood daily, including oven ready baked lobster and shrimp, and was famous for its "king size fish and chips to go." The shop was open four days a week, Thursdays through Sundays.
Futons Plus currently operates at 978 Sullivan, adjacent to The Red Cabin Restaurant in a small plaza which also includes Bella Pizza, Nail House & Spa and The Edge Tattoo Shop. Here is a contemporary look at the site, taken last Saturday.
