Picture South Windsor - Then And Now
An old advertisement and brief story from South Windsor's past, and how that site appears today.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The latest installment of our periodic informal series highlighting businesses from South Windsor's past takes us to page 201 of the 1974 South Windsor High School yearbook, The Centurion. This is the earliest yearbook ad we could find for Teddy's Pizza House, a longtime institution in a small strip mall at 289 Oakland Road.
Arthur Karahalios and Peter Patsakis owned the restaurant on Route 30 for many years. The pizzeria became as well known for its generosity to the South Windsor community as for its delicious Italian and Greek meals. Their ads appeared in the yearbook for more than 40 years.
In Oct. 2018, the owners of Camille's Wood Fired Pizza in Tolland expanded into the old Teddy's location, naming the business Oakland Pizza. Here is a contemporary picture of the site, taken last week.
