Police said the homeowner was alerted by security cameras before officers arrived and interrupted the attempted theft.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Springfield, Massachusetts man was arrested Thursday on an active warrant in connection with an attempted burglary in South Windsor, police said.

Carlos J. Rivera, 31, was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, possession of burglar’s tools and conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, according to South Windsor police.

Police said the charges stem from a November 2022 incident on Main Street, where officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary into a shed. Police said the suspects were trying to steal a four-wheeler and a dirt bike when the homeowner was alerted by security cameras.
