Police: Swerving Driver Charged With DUI In South Windsor

Police said officers found the vehicle Saturday night after receiving reports it was swerving on local roads.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A 41-year-old Worcester, Massachusetts man was charged with driving under the influence after police said his vehicle was reported swerving across the roadway Saturday night.

South Windsor police said officers were called around 9:33 p.m. March 21 to the area of John Fitch Boulevard and Sullivan Avenue after receiving reports of a vehicle “swerving all over the roadway.”

Officers located the vehicle near Oakland Road and Slater Street and identified Carlos M. Dones as the driver, police said.

During the investigation, officers determined Dones was under the influence of alcohol, according to police. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently failed them, police said.

Dones was taken into custody, processed and later released on a $1,200 non-surety bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 6, 2026, at 9 a.m.
