UPDATE: Electrician Identified In Fatal Accident at South Windsor Amusement Center

Update, Sept. 2:

South Windsor Police have identified the victim in Tuesday’s workplace accident as Matthew Hoffman, 42. Police did not have the man’s address yet but said the investigation is continuing and the department’s investigators will be reviewing the case with the Medical Examiner on Wednesday.

Update 2:30 p.m.

Fox CT reports that the victim died at the hospital. An identification has not yet been released except that the man was in his 40s and served as a licensed electrician for Northern Nights Electric in Bolton.

Update, 1:30 p.m.:

South Windsor Police dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a medical emergency at 100 Bidwell Road, Nomad’s Adventure Quest, (an indoor amusement venue) at about 11:39 a.m. on Tuesday.

An employee reported that an electrician had been removing light fixtures while working on a platform. The electrician appeared to have sustained an electrical shock and fell from the platform, still holding the wire which was believed to still carry high voltage, according to Lt. Scott Custer.

Employees had thought the power had been off to the fixtures and emergency responders called for Eversource Power to shut down all power to the building for the safety of the victim and rescuers.

South Windsor Police, South Windsor Fire and Ambulance Service of Manchester paramedics began CPR and the victim was transported to Manchester Memorial Hospital for treatment.

O.S.H.A. has been contacted to assist into the police department’s investigation, however, Custer said at this time the incident appears to be a serious workplace accident.

The victims’ condition is not known at this time.

South Windsor police are responding to 100 Bidwell Road on a report of a person “wrapped in wires,” according to NBC Connecticut.

Nomad’s Adventure Quest, an amusement center, is located at the Bidwell Road address.
