Tag Sale To Benefit Renovation of the historic Union District School

The South Windsor Historical Society will host a tag sale at 1225 Main
St., South Windsor, May 13, 14, and 15 for the benefit of the
restoration of the century-old Union District School as a museum and
cultural arts center.
Chaired by Elsie Woolam, the hours sale hours
are 3 to 7 pm, Friday, and 9 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday. The sale
will feature jewelry, linens, glassware from the 50's, furniture,
household appliances, toys, books, dvds, rugs, and bric-a-brac . Anyone
with items to donate may
drop them off in the barn.
The Union
District School was built here in 1901, consolidating smaller school
districts on the west side of town. It was used as an elementary school
through most of the 20th century, then converted to Board of Education
offices and later a day care facility and more recently acquired by the
historical society.
Membership in the society is open to anyone interested in South Windsor history. For more information, visit its website at www.southwindsorhistory.org. For more information, call Elsie Woolam, 860-289-4177.
