South Windsor Again Seeking Volleyball Gold

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — As brackets for the CIAC boys volleyball championships were released Friday morning, South Windsor High School found itself beginning its quest for a second state title with a home match.

The Bobcats are the ninth seed in Class L as they seek to duplicate the championship season of 2016, which took place in Class M. They draw a first-round bye, and will travel to No. 4 New Canaan for the quarterfinals May 31.

Here are the opening matchups for teams from schools in Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties. Click the class headers for complete brackets.

Class L

1st Round - May 30

• No. 13 Glastonbury at No. 4 East Hartford
• No. 12 Shelton at No. 5 Southington
• No. 10 Cheshire at No. 7 Hall
• No. 11 Enfield at No. 6 Darien

Class M

1st Round - May 30

• No. 1 Newington, bye
• No. 5 South Windsor, bye
• No. 9 Daniel Hand at No. 8 Farmington
• No. 10 Wethersfield at No. 7 Rockville
