SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police on the overnight shift in South Windsor on Thursday came across an unusual site — an all-terrain vehicle draped across the back of a compact car.

An officer happened to be passing by Tony's Mobil on Route 5 and noticed the scene, police chief Scott Custer said. The four-wheel ATV was secured by a single strap. The back wheels of the ATV were braced against the back window of the car, according to police.

The operator said the ATV was driven over the top of the car to get it in that position, Custer said.
The officer advised the driver it was a 'bad idea' and the ATV was eventually transported more safely, Custer said.
