South Windsor Council Votes To Raise Age On Vaping, Tobacco
You'll have to be 21 to purchase tobacco and vaping products now in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - The Town Council has approved a measure raising the legal age to buy e-cigarette and tobacco products from 18 to 21. According to the Hartford Courant, fines for selling to those under 21 will be $200 for the first offense; $350 for a second offense during an 18-month period; and up to $500 for each subsequent offense.
Those under 21 who attempt to purchase these products will be subject to a $50 fine.
Hartford and Bridgeport have passed similar measures, the Journal-Inquirer reported.

One Republican on the council, Janice Snyder, voted against the ordinance, which passed 6-1. The ordinance will go into effect in about two weeks.
