South Windsor Elementary Schools Ranked Among the County's Best

While none of South Windsor’s elementary schools ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in Connecticut, based on Niche.com’s rankings, the district did fare well in the separate rankings for Hartford County.

All five of South Windsor’s elementary schools were ranked in Niche.com’s Top 100 for Hartford County.

Here’s how they placed:

• Orchard Hill School — No. 32
• Pleasant Valley School — No. 42
• Wapping Elementary School — No. 45
• Eli Terry Elementary School — No. 51
• Philip R. Smith School — No. 54

According to Niche, a high ranking indicates that “students are happy with their experiences in all aspects, especially academics, teachers, and diversity,” “the school is an exceptional academic institution in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes,” and “the school is made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture.”
