FREE Event In South Windsor Tackles Kids, Phones And Online Pressure
The free program is presented by South Windsor Youth & Family Services in partnership with South Windsor Public Schools and police.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A free community event later this month will tackle a topic many parents say they struggle with daily: kids and screen time.
South Windsor Youth & Family Services, in collaboration with South Windsor Public Schools and the South Windsor Police Department, will present the award-winning film “Screenagers” on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Timothy Edwards Middle School.
The updated 2025 version of the film explores how social media, video games, academics and internet use affect kids’ emotional well-being and development. It also offers practical strategies for families trying to help children find balance in an increasingly digital world.

The event will be held in the TEMS Auditorium. Optional pizza will be available from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the film from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A short question-and-answer session will take place after the screening.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend. Students in grades 5 and up may also attend with a parent or caregiver. Organizers say the goal is to give families tools and information they can use at home when setting boundaries around phones, gaming and social media.
