South Windsor Fills Council Seat Following Controversy

A new council member has taken the spot vacated by Jeffrey Glickman.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Karen Lydecker will take over in a city council position following a controversy regarding a sex offender's presence at a child care facility, the Hartford Courant reported. Jeffrey Glickman resigned from the council last week due to his knowledge that Jason Wasserman, president of Temple Beth Hillel, was a registered sex offender.

The temple was slated to host before- and after-school child care activities. However, after the discovery of Wasserman's status on the sex offender registry, the program has since been moved.

Lydecker was approved by the Democratic town committee to take over the council position.
