South Windsor Issues Traffic Advisory For Torch Run
A Special Olympics event will take place this weekend.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - The Special Olympics Torch Run will take place this Thursday, June 6, 2019. The Torch Run runners will enter South Windsor from Manchester on Oakland Road (Rt. 30) at approximately 12:40 hours. From the town line, the runners will continue on Rte. 30 and then turn right onto Sullivan Ave. The runners will continue to run on Sullivan Ave then turn right onto Sand Hill Road, stopping at South Windsor Police headquarters.
During the break at the police department, the Special Olympics Connecticut will be presenting our agency with a framed Torch Run shirt. Listed on the back of the Torch Run shirt is a memorial in the Memory of Chief John Roche, TFC Kevin Miller, TFC Walter Green and Sgt. Matthew Mainieri.

After the presentation of the Torch Run Shirt and the refreshment break, the runners will be transported to St. Francis Church on Ellington Rd. The runners will leave the parking lot at 13:54 hours turning left onto Ellington Rd. The run will continue on Ellington Rd then turn right onto Chapel Rd, which will end our portion of the run.
