South Windsor Man Accused of Punching Woman Multiple Times in the Head

The man was arrested following an early Saturday morning domestic dispute.

A South Windsor man was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly punching a woman multiple times in the head during a domestic dispute, according to police.

Police were dispatched to a Henry Road home at about 4 a.m. on Saturday on a domestic violence complaint.

Witnesses told police that a man had punched a woman in the head multiple times in the driveway of the home.

Officers arrived at the home and learned the suspect had already fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was interviewed and officers later contacted the suspect by phone. He was eventually located and taken into custody.

Officers arrested the man, Rui Silva, 36, of 913 Pleasant Valley Road, and charged him with third-degree assault. He was later released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Silva is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Monday, March 23.
