South Windsor Man Wins $50,000 Lottery Prize
He bought his winning ticket at Oakland Express in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Daniel Niziankiewicz of South Windsor had a feeling a big win was coming his way.
“I had a premonition for a while,” the lucky winner said while claiming his $50,000 prize for “Lucky Links with 2XPower”.
On Oct. 18, the numbers on Niziankiewicz’s Quick Pick “play grid” were a perfect match to the winning Lucky Links Day numbers drawn: 1-2-6-7-9-10-12-14. As a result, eight winning lines were created on Niziankiewicz’s ticket for the game’s $50,000 top prize.

Niziankiewicz went to www.ctlottery.org to check his numbers that day. “I couldn’t believe it, checked it four times – I said, ‘Can’t wait to tell my wife.’”
Niziankiewicz hurried home and started a commotion as soon as he walked through the door. “I won fifty thousand dollars!”

Niziankiewicz’s wife, Claire, was in disbelief and thought her husband was joking.
“I’ll prove it to you!” the lucky winner stated as they visited a local CT Lottery retailer to use a Ticket Checker. As reality set in for both, they knew their next stop would be the CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.
There are no plans for the winnings yet, but Niziankiewicz simply wants to enjoy fall’s scenic wonders with his wife. “We’re going for a ride, to the ocean for some views—enjoy the foliage.”
For selling the winning ticket, Oakland Express, located on 249 Oakland Road in South Windsor, will receive a $500 check from the CT Lottery.
The overall odds of winning a Lucky Links prize are 1 in 8.4; the odds of winning the Lucky Links top prize is 1 in 319,770.
