South Windsor Obituary: Anne Bordua, 90

Condolences to her family and friends.

Anne (Cassarino) Bordua, 90, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Bernard E. Bordua died peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family.

Anne was born on October 1, 1927 in New Britain, daughter of the late Gaetano and Vincenza (Felice) Cassarino. She grew up in New Britain and was a graduate of New Britain High School with the Class of 1945. A resident of South Windsor since 1950, she was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Anne was an original quilter at the Wood Memorial Library. She enjoyed knitting and knitted many hats and scarves for the homeless. She enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful perennial garden. Anne was a kind, caring and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves her children, Daniel J. Bordua and his wife Donna of Torrington, Thomas J. Bordua of Langdon, NH, Paul J. Bordua of Enfield, Loraine A Breslin and her husband Stephen of South Windsor, and Francis J. Bordua and his wife Lisa of South Windsor; her brothers, Paul Cassarino of Windsor, Salvatore Cassarino of Naples, FL, Frank Cassarino and his wife Eleanor of Clearwater, FL, and Carl Cassarino and his wife Bonna of Colchester; her grandchildren, Christopher, Kathryn, Justin, Emily, and Nathan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Concetta “Connie” Elliott.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 9-10 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in South Windsor.
