
Beverly F. (Wright) Burke, 82, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late James F. Burke, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 22, 1935 in Hartford, daughter of the late Lee and Marie (Celani) Wright. Beverly grew up in Hartford. She married the love of her life, James F. Burke on April 7, 1956 and they settled in South Windsor. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor.
Beverly’s life revolved around her family and she was happiest being with her loved ones. She had a selfless and compassionate approach to life, as caring for others was foremost. Beverly enjoyed shopping, bowling, and cooking for her family and friends, as well as summer vacations at Cape Cod. She took loving care of her husband James during his extended illness in their later years. A kind, caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Nana, and friend she will be dearly missed.

She leaves her children, Brian Burke and his wife Helenann of South Windsor, and Linda Stone and her husband Christopher of East Hartford; her sister, Paula Black and her husband Bruce of FL; her grandchildren, Zachary Stone, Ian Burke, Brittany Stone, Sean Burke, Brendan Burke, and Hunter Stone; several nieces and nephews who also loved her as their Nana, Ryan Wright, Christopher Wright, Jennifer Price, Jason Dunn, and Gloria Famiglietti; and her nieces and nephews, Donald Hinze, Frances Sanchez, Lisa Parenteau, Leigh Pizzoferrato, Debbie Atkins, Cheryl Newton, Deana Wright, and Susan Doherty.
Her family sends a special thank you to her hospice team at Hartford Healthcare, especially Amy and Lola, as well as her in home health aides and caregivers, Silvia and Elizabeth for their kind and compassionate care.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, 9 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. Her family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
