South Windsor Obituary: Carl Barone, 74

Carl F. Barone, 74, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Ginette (Carrier) Barone, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Carl was born in Hartford, son of the late Carl A. and Marianna Barone. He grew up in Hartford and East Hartford and was a graduate of East Hartford High School. He served our country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army.

He married the love of his life, Ginette in 1969. He worked for the Local #15 as an Iron worker for many years before his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Local #15 Retiree Club, the Harley Owners Group, and the British Iron Association. He had a passion motorcycles and was a classic car enthusiast. He will be remembered for his gentle smile, memorable bird calls, and the love of dancing.

Along with his wife Ginette, of 49 years, he leaves his son, Matthew Barone of PA; his sister, Joanne Noonan and her husband John of Newington; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Barone of Ellington, Murielle Boggs of Cromwell, Jocelyne Chase of Tewksbury, MA, and Maryse Bellizzi and her husband Don of Newington. He was predeceased by his brother, Sebastian Barone.

His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Masonicare for their kind and compassionate care.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday April 4, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018, 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery.
