
Daniel A. Picano, 74, of West Hartford, formerly of South Windsor, died peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Hughes Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Hartford.
He was born on September 7, 1943 in Hartford, son of the late Donato and Elizabeth (Petrone) Picano. He grew up in Hartford and graduated from Weaver High School. Daniel worked as a surgical technician at St. Francis Hospital for 40 years, before his retirement in 2014. He was also a member of the organ procurement team.
He enjoyed biking, cars, spending time at the beach and music, most especially the band Chicago. Daniel was extremely funny and had a great sense of humor. Daniel was a loving father, and grandfather, and friend to many. He cherished the relationships he had with family and friends.

He leaves his children, Cara Colli and her husband Jeffery of Somers, and Daniel Picano and his wife Sandra of Enfield; his step-daughter, Stacey Kilduff of Jacksonville, FL; his brother, Joey Picano of FL; his grandchildren, Nicolas, Charlotte, Alejandra and Aaron; and his Goddaughter, Diana LeClair of Bloomfield. He was predeceased by his sister Natalie Picano.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hughes for their kind and compassionate care, especially Anka, Stephanie, Miss Johnson, Deb, and Carlos.

His family will receive friends on Friday, March 30, 2018, from 4-7 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Burial will be private at the request of his family.
