
Dorothy A. (Shea) Stetson, 86, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Donald W. Stetson departed her life Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.
She was born March 8, 1932, in Hartford; the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Padula) Shea. In her younger years her and Don spent many rainy days playing old movies at their old theater at Soundview Beach, these days were the happiest of their lives. She had a love for thoroughbred race horses.
Dorothy was an avid lover of antiques, she knew the value immediately, she could outbid or outsell the best. To know her was to love her.

Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Stetson Paternostro and her husband Richard along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, plus many good friends especially Carl and Nancy Lickwar of South Windsor. She was predeceased by her son Donald Stetson, Jr. (1991), sister-in-law, Phyllis Stetson Botka and brother-in-law, Charles N. Stetson.
A special tribute is given to her loyal, caring, loving friends and caregivers for numerous years, Kevin Burnham of South Windsor, and Robbi Preston of Bolton. The only words they knew were “We can do it!”

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Center Cemetery on Old Main Street in South Windsor. Samsel and Carmon Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
