South Windsor Obituary: George Klember, 70

George J. Klember, 70, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Mary Ann (Linko) Klember, died peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Rockville General Hospital, embraced by his loving family.

He was born on August 9, 1947 in Tarboro, NC, son of the late Theodore and Estelle (Reynolds) Klember. George grew up in South Windsor and attended South Windsor High School. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps and was awarded three Purple Heart Medals and the Navy Commendation Medal for heroic and meritorious service in combat.

In 1972, George married his only love, Mary Ann Linko, and they became one, raising a devoted family whom he cherished. He worked for Mass Mutual and Clinical Laboratory Partners, retiring from both after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

George was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan. He treasured the time he spent with his family and his four-legged best friend, Monty and will be forever remembered as a selfless, down to earth, devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Ann, son, Joseph D. Klember and his wife, Cecilia of Tolland, daughter, Kristen Ann Klember of South Windsor, and his adored grandchildren Natalie, Jason, and Michelle Klember of Tolland. George's family also includes his brother Theodore Joseph Klember and his wife Gail, sister Mary Ellen Keeney and her husband Chuck, sister Betty Lou Rascati and her husband Richard, brother Roy Klember along with many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Klember. George was also close to and will be missed by his in-laws: George Linko, Margaret Fanning and her husband Stephen, Patricia Linko and her husband John and Susan Bellavia and her husband, Lenny.

Funeral services and burial with Military Honors will be private at the request of the family.
