
Henry C. Ordway, 88, of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Ruth (Kaempffe) Ordway died peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 19, 1929 in Worcester, MA, son of the late Cyrus and Phyllis (Farrell) Ordway. Henry was a graduate of Ellsworth High School in South Windsor. He went on to serve our country with the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon returning from the war he worked as a procurement specialist with the Army Reserves and retired after many years of service.
Henry was active in his younger years with the Boys Scouts Troop #62 in South Windsor and was a member of the Evergreen Lodge in South Windsor. Henry was a history buff, and a member of the Living History Association in Vermont and participated in Civil War reenactments.

He leaves his daughter Lucy Ordway of South Windsor; his son, Howard Ordway of E. Hartford; his sister, Priscilla Ordway of Georgia; three nieces, a nephew, and many special cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Sherman Ordway.
Funeral services will be private at the request of his family.
