South Windsor Obituary: Ryszard Strzelecki, 67

Ryszard Strzelecki, 67, of South Windsor, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 15, 1948 in Radzilow, Poland. Ryszard was pre-deceased by his father, Stanislaw Strzelecki. Ryszard grew up in Poland and came to the U.S. in 1966. He was the loving husband of Celina (Golas) Strzelecki—the love of his life—and they began their lives together in Hartford and later moved to South Windsor in 1977.

Ryszard was a parishioner of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford and St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. He worked as a machinist for J & L Machine in Manchester for many years. Ryszard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms, and he especially enjoyed spending time grilling with his granddaughter. He played soccer for the Hartford Polish Club in his younger years. A kind, caring, loving and devoted family man, he will be greatly missed.

Along with his wife Celina, of 46 years, he leaves his mother, Irena (Chrzanowska) Strzelecki; his daughter, Anna Wilder of South Windsor; his sister, Ann Adermach of Middletown; his beloved granddaughter, Jenna Wilder of South Windsor and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Manchester Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Ave., Hartford. Guests are asked to proceed directly to church in the morning. His family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, from 5-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ryszard's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
