South Windsor Obituary: Scott Thompson, 57

Scott A. Thompson, 57, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Susan (Parent) Thompson died from injuries sustained in an ATV accident on Monday, August 7, 2017 in Chester/Andover, Vermont.

Scott was born on October 24, 1959, in Waterville, ME, the son of Margaret (Kinney) Thompson and the late Theodore Thompson. Scott grew up in Pittsfield, ME, and graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1978. He later moved to Hartford, where he worked for Hartford Cutter.

He was married to the love of his life, Susan Parent in 1992 and they started their life together in South Windsor. Scott went on to work for H & B Tool and Engineering Co., and Electro-Methods Inc., both in South Windsor, before starting his own business, Ace Cutter Grinding LLC., in South Windsor.

Scott loved the outdoors, skiing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, gardening, and birdwatching. He had a passion for motorcycles, Mustangs, and NASCAR. Scott built a second home in Vermont to spend quality time with his family and friends. His home in Vermont was his sanctuary, it was the place where he felt he had everything anybody could ever want and thought everyone felt the same. Scott was happy anywhere as long as he was surrounded by his family and friends.

Along with his wife of 25 years, Susan, and his mother, Peggy Thompson of Suffield, he leaves his children, Kelsey Thompson of Manchester; his son, Ryan Thompson of South Windsor; his sister, Tammy Vuocolo and her husband Jeffrey of Suffield; his brother, Eric Thompson and his wife Julie of South Windsor; his uncle Ron Kinney of Avon; his mother-in-law, Annette Parent of Wethersfield; his sister-in-law, Diane Michaud and her husband Ron of Wethersfield; his brother-in-law, Michael Parent and his wife Mabel of Wethersfield; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of his family.
