South Windsor to Open Hockey Tournament On the Road

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Brackets for the state's three boys ice hockey tournaments were released Friday, and South Windsor High School will be opening the Division II tournament on the road.

The Bobcats are seeded ninth, and will travel to No. 8 Branford Tuesday at the Northford Ice Pavilion at 5 p.m.

A total of 14 teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties will be competing in the three state tournaments. Here is a complete listing of opening round matchups for those teams; click the division headers for complete brackets.

Division I (Wednesday, 3/7)

• No. 16 East Catholic (0-19-1) at No. 1 Fairfield Prep (17-2-1), 6 p.m.
• No. 10 Simsbury (9-10-1) at No. 7 Northwest Catholic (11-8-1), 6:40 p.m.

Division II (Tuesday, 3/6)

• No. 16 Westhill/Stamford (7-9-2) at No. 1 Farmington Valley (17-2-1), 8 p.m.
