South Windsor Rotary's Peace Through Service theme for 2012 - 2013 culminated with the Rotary holding a fundraising Golf Tournament on May 22nd at Topstone to support the efforts of the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.
Rotary President Bruce Filingeri presented Fire Chief Kevin Cooney and Tom Pederzoli (2) checks totaling $19,550 at their June 19th meeting at the Mill on the River. The first check for $9,550 is to finish the purchase of a new Hurst Tool aka "The Jaws of Life" for the Department. The second check for $10,000 is to be a Diamond Sponsor for the Fire Departments 75th Anniversary celebration in conjunction with the Departments hosting of the 130th Firefighters Convention in South Windsor this coming September.
