South Windsor School Numbers Spike
Growth has spurred a significant increase in student enrollment.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - School enrollment numbers have jumped in recent years and some officials are concerned the town can't handle additional growth, The Journal-Inquirer reported. Previous projections showed a decrease for enrollment numbers, but new data shows the number of students will go from 4,114 in 2015 to an expected 4,700 in 2022.
Families are coming to South Windsor because of the town's schools, though with this growth comes challenges. Some schools, such as the recently completed Orchard Hill Elementary School, may need to expand soon to accommodate new students.
